Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Overland Park, KS 2014-present
Youth Art Instructor

  • Teach classes for children aged 5 to 7.

  • Create and teach lesson plans based on permanent and temporary exhibits at the Nerman. Classes include a museum tour as well as an art-making component.

  • Identify art materials to be used in the class and supervise volunteers who assist with the classes.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Assist the professor teaching Instructional Strategies for Elementary Art Majors by prepping supplies, teaching and assisting students with projects, as well as assessing work and maintaining class grades.

  • Maintain the inventory of art supplies for the Visual Art Department and submit supply orders.

2015 Kansas Curricular Standards for Visual Arts Adoption Committee Member

  • Was a member of a group of 18 visual art teachers from across the state of Kansas who worked with Fine Arts Education Consultant Joyce Huser to apply and adopt the new National Visual Arts Standards for the state of Kansas.

  • The Kansas State Board of Education adopted our recommendations for the state July 2015.
